Welcome to help from a geek

Welcome to Help From a Geek! My name is Jerry Voelker and I am here to help you solve your technology problems! This site provides a free, friendly means for you to get help fixing your computer. As technology has become pervasive in our lives, it has also grown much more complex. Let me help guide you through some of the issues facing you as you become accustomed to using all this technology!
Want help cleaning up a virus? Sure, we can do that. We can also take it a step further by teaching you some safe computing habits in order to prevent this from happening again. I offer advice relating to what a geek might do in your situation, and through my recommendations of free software, sound computing practices, and more technology related information than you can shake a stick at, we can bring out your inner geek! Just a little...who knows, you just may like it!
I started this site as a means to answer specific questions posed to me, and that still remains a large factor of what this site is about. In that spirit, I encourage you to either use the contact form to send me a question, send me an email, or you can also follow help from a geek on twitter and send a tweet!
I am in the process of a redesign, so I ask that you bear with me. I promise to do my best to answer all of your questions. In the meantime, go out and hug your favorite geek!
